KIM BRIO-COX — OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY SHORT BIO Kim Brio-Cox is a founder and systems designer who builds brands, tools, and media that don't exist yet. Through Brio Cox Group, the Chicago company she co-founded, she develops businesses, creative IP, and human-centered systems, working the same way each time: find what's missing, design the architecture, turn it into something people can actually use. LONG BIO Most of Kim Brio-Cox's work starts with the same question: what should exist here that doesn't yet? She taught herself to code around age 10 and sold handmade beaded lanyards to her mother's coworkers at 12. By high school she was building websites for churches and small businesses. Twenty-five years later the scale has changed. The instinct hasn't. In 2010 she founded the entrepreneurship initiative now known as Black Lady Boss Alliance. She ran Brand Building Week, a free annual brand-education event, for six straight years. Solsei & Co., her Chicago branding and media company, opened in 2019. From 2021 she built and operated NuSol Radio / WSOL-DB Chicago, a Black woman-owned Neo-Soul and R&B station that passed 15,000 mobile-app downloads before signing off in 2024. Today she is co-founder and systems designer at Brio Cox Group, where she develops businesses, creative IP, and human-centered systems, including the personal operating systems built under Brio Life. She also publishes research and writing on recognition, dignity, and institutional failure. Her method has held across every chapter: find what's missing, design the architecture, turn complexity into something people can actually use.
